Meet the Therapists
Behind the Magic
We believe that children grow best when they’re supported by adults who are both highly skilled and deeply caring. Every occupational therapist on our team brings a unique blend of expertise, creativity, and heart to their work. We learn from each other, mentor one another, and most importantly—center your child in everything we do.
Michelle Kemper, MS, OTR/L
Founder + Director
Michelle Kemper is originally from Boston but has called San Francisco home for over twenty years.
She became an occupational therapist because she couldn’t choose between medicine, education, psychology, and public health—occupational therapy blends them all beautifully.
One of her favorite OT activities (and a fan favorite at COAST!) is “Pop the Kid,” where a child gets a surprise bounce off the “Whale” swing and delights in the flight—a perfect mix of movement and joy.
Outside of work, Michelle enjoys visiting her parents on Cape Cod, walking her dog through San Francisco’s green spaces, and spending time with her college-aged son.
Marissa Ortega, OTD, OTR/L
Marissa Ortega grew up in San Bruno, California.
She discovered occupational therapy was the perfect fit after volunteering in various settings and falling in love with the field. She values OT’s holistic approach—considering the whole person and their environment to support engagement and independence in daily life.
Her favorite therapy activity is the moon swing, which offers a fun and engaging way to build postural strength while providing vestibular input. She often adds a visual motor challenge, encouraging kids to aim for a target while swinging, turning movement into playful coordination practice.
Outside of work, Marissa enjoys hiking, painting, exploring new places, and relaxing at the beach.
Victoria Vu, MS, OTR/L
Victoria Vu was born and raised in San Jose, California, and now resides in San Francisco.
She became an occupational therapist because she appreciates the field’s holistic approach—considering not only a person’s challenges, but also their daily life, goals, and overall well-being.
One of her favorite OT activities is textile crafts, where children explore materials with different sensations, make a plan with a goal in mind, and create their own unique projects.
Outside of COAST, Victoria enjoys trying new foods, reading books, and going on adventures with friends.
Clara Davenport, OTD, OTR/L
Clara Davenport is a native San Franciscan but has lived all around the country.
She discovered occupational therapy while going down the track to become a social worker and switched fields due to her love of the hands-on approach with a blend of holistic and medical practices. While Clara has worked in other settings, she chose pediatrics due to her passion to support the family dynamic and growth of child development.
Her favorite therapy activities include sensory play with executive functioning components and sensory feeding therapy. She is a Certified Infant Massage Coach as well.
Outside of COAST, Clara enjoys exploring nature, traveling, and playing board games with her friends.
Amy Segura, OTD, OTR/L, Lead Therapist
Amy Segura is originally from Los Angeles and adopted San Francisco as her second home during undergrad.
She became an occupational therapist because it perfectly blended her call to help others, her passion for working with children, and her interest in science and the human body.
Her favorite OT activity is the scooter board, as it offers endless playful opportunities to target a variety of skills, such as core strength, motor planning, bilateral coordination, inhibition and safety skills, and more!
Outside of work, Amy enjoys being a dog mom to her pup, Chai, spending time with friends and family, and seeking any opportunity to be near the water and in the sun!
Sophia Bonk, MS OTR_L, Team Therapist
Sophia is a Bay Area native who grew up in Burlingame, California. She was introduced to occupational therapy at a young age through her younger brother, who has worked with OTs throughout his life. This early exposure inspired her to pursue a career in occupational therapy, with the goal of supporting children in meaningful ways to help them grow and thrive!
One of Sophia’s favorite activities is combining Simon Says with body socks to create a fun, interactive motor challenge that promotes body awareness and balance.
Outside of work, Sophia enjoys hiking, spending time with friends and family, scuba diving in
tropical places, and cheering for the San Francisco 49ers!
Sara Aguirre, Administrative Assistant
Sara Aguirre was born and raised in Southern California and is thrilled to call the Bay Area her second home.
She is currently a Kinesiology major at San Francisco State University, with a future goal of pursuing a career in occupational therapy. The field stands out to her not only for its well-rounded therapeutic approach but also for the meaningful connections that emerge from supporting others' growth.
In her free time, you can find Sara people-watching in the park, cooking tasty meals in her kitchen, or diving into random videos on YouTube.
